Centre for Energy Technology at University College of Engineering, Osmania University was established during November 1997 with the objective of promoting New and Renewable Sources of Energy. Energy is a vital input for economic and social development. Confined concern on the depletion of fossil fuel reserves and detrimental effects of conventional energy sources on environment makes it imperative to maximize the use of renewable energy sources which are economically viable and environmentally friendly and adoption of environmentally friendly frontier technologies. The centre aims at development and popularization of such technologies.
